Description: Estonian Republic Independence Day

To celebrate the Independence Day which was actually proclaimed at today's very own date, February 24th, some 93 years ago, Google has released a doodle on Estonia Google search page (www.google.ee).

The Google logo replacement features the Google letters without "e" in 3 colors which are blue, black and white together with a flying swift. Actually the color on those letters represents the Estonian flag color while the swift or more commonly known as a barn swallow or chimney swallow is actually the national bird of Estonia.

For information, barn swallow are rather usual "guests" in Estonian homes. Its call is an
everyday music which can be heard at every eave and barn rafter in the country. This small blue bird was chosen as a national bird after a campaign by the ornithologists in the sixties.
Besides that, the Estonian Air company also adopted the flag color which also resembles the blue back color of the barn swallow on thier commercial airplanes.

Not only that, the EE 500 krooni (which is equal to US 44 dolars) also has a flying barn swallow imprints on the back side of the bank note.
