Reviewing on the tenth series of this year's World Cup, it is co-host by three of the participating nations which are Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka with Bangladesh's first time co-hosting the big game event. Pakistan, which is also the member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) should have been co-hosted the event together with those 3 countries but their hosting rights was stripped of by the council due to the 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team in Lahore which resulted in 14 of their match hosting being given away to Bangladesh (2), India(8) and Sri Lanka(4).
The event which will be held for 12 days, is participated by 14 countries with 10 are being the full members of the ICC including the previous winner which is Australia. The rest are the associate members which are the national team of Canada, Ireland, Kenya and Netherlands.

The tournament logo features a rounded circle resembling the cricket ball with 3 different colors of red, green and blue. The logo selected from a total 12 submissions was designed by an Australian creative firm Witekite. The design is unique as it represents some of the cricket actions on it with the basis of the logo suggests the participating of the supporters and players to make the event successful and full of enjoyment. Besides the logo, the mascot is an elephant which represents those 3 countries and their continents as the most abundance of the animal.
